Yaiza Ayuntamiento invites you to visit the exhibition “Lanzarote, la lucha por el agua” (Lanzarote, the fight for water), installed at the Plaza de la Almeda in Yaiza.
“Lanzarote, la lucha por el agua” is an exhibition by José María Barreto, who presents an educational tour of what has been the most valuable and scarce natural resource on the island.
The exhibition will be open to the public from the 23rd of February until the 3rd of March. It will also move to Calle Limones in Playa Blanca to be enjoyed by residents and tourists in the southern resort.
The Mayor of Yaiza congratulated Barreto and the members of the Orden del Cachorro Canario “for highlighting the customs and traditions of our land. The use of water is part of the lives of our people, it symbolises the struggle for survival, so the action of spreading their culture is not only important, but especially necessary, so I also appreciate the support of CEIPO Yaiza that have scheduled guided tours for the schoolchildren.”
