Walking Football Lanzarote is a newly set up group for over 50s who love to play football… where they play at your pace. It’s a great way to socialise, especially if you love a good kick about!
The newly set up group “Walking Football Lanzarote” is a friendly and inclusive group open to men over 50 and women over 40. The group are aimed at getting your shooting boots back on without the worry of being sore or injuring yourself during the game.
The aim of the game is in the group’s name, “Walking Football”, and that allows for a level playing field that everyone can enjoy.
Walking Football is a variant of the beloved game and originated in Chesterfield in 2011. It shot up in popularity especially after it featured in a Barclays TV advert in 2014. Additionally, many professional outfits have since set up their own official groups, such as Manchester City, who hold regular tournaments.
