Harriet Jelley and her husband Fernando have brought joy and wonder to kids all over Lanzarote with their Princess Dream Parties events. This December they are going above and beyond to bring the Christmas spirit to those in need.
What do you and Fernando do, Harriet?
Our main goal is making children’s dreams come true. We offer a huge range of characters from Princesses to Superheroes, and now Santa Claus.
How long have you guys been performing for?
I’ve been performing since the age of 4. When I left school, I went for professional training at stage school. I’m now lucky enough to have my very own children’s entertainment business.
Fernando, on the other hand, found his passion just over a year ago. As soon as he did his very first party as Spiderman, he knew this was what he wanted to do.
Any new characters?
This is our first year doing Santa Claus, but it’s something we hope to do every year.
This year you’re doing something very important with the Advent Calendar Drop Offs too. Who are these for?
We have decided to donate Advent Drop Offs to families in need. Elsa and Spiderman will be going to houses to meet children and make people smile. We started the drop-offs last year and didn’t expect them to be so popular. So, with everything being a little different this year, we thought this would work even better; personally meeting children in the comfort of their own homes.
What have the responses been like?
We always receive an amazing welcome but this year has definitely been more emotional. It’s been a tough year for families, so bringing a little magic their way is so rewarding.
There are a lot of unforgettable moments with little ones. It really is the best job in the world.
Where can people expect to see you performing this month?
This month we will be at C.C. Biosfera every Friday and Saturday with our Santa visits, this is a 1 hour event with Santa, Tinkerbell And Periwinkle from 6PM.
We will also be there on Christmas Eve from 11:30 these visits have to be booked in advance and we warn you – it’s very busy
Thanks Harriet, and Merry Christmas.
