The Flower Power garden centre in Lanzarote is a well known and loved shop on the island that specialises in plants, decoration and solar garden lighting. Last month they opened a new section to the centre specialising in exclusive high-quality designer outdoor furniture from Italy and the United Kingdom. We spoke to Flower Power boss, Chris, about his new and exciting opening.
The entrance to the Flower Power garden centre is unmistakable. All visitors are greeted by an impressive display of blooming flowers, mature trees and iconic cacti. Chris greeted us at the entrance and took us through to the centre’s new furniture shop.
As we walked through the centre we enjoyed the aroma of fresh herbs and the delightful sound of wind chimes. Before entering, Chris explained that the new shop used to be storage for the garden centre and that a lot of work had been put into turning it into a space to display the exclusive Italian and Spanish outdoor furniture.
“After finding and contacting both furniture companies, Flower Power is now the exclusive vendor for both companies on Lanzarote”, Chris explained, “I found the Italian company, Talenti, after researching online, and I found Skyline Design after visiting a furniture exhibition in mainland Spain”, he added.
Talenti is a premium Italian outdoor furniture manufacturer that craft furnishings with an attention to detail with carefully selected materials and finishes to withstand the elements. Skyline Design, based in Leicester, have been manufacturing modern outdoor furniture sets for over 35 years and since 1978 has become synonymous with impeccable quality.
Chris showed us around his furniture showroom which displays an impressive “taster” of the type of furniture that the Flower Power garden centre now offers its clients. “You won’t find this furniture anywhere else on the island. If you buy a furniture set from us, you will be the only one on Lanzarote with it. You can’t find this in other furniture stores on the island. It is exclusive and high-quality”, Chris explained.
“What I have here in this showroom is just a selection to show the varieties of furniture that I sell, but anything that you can find in Talenti or Skyline’s catalogues I can order to the island and install for you”, he added.
The furniture is unlike anything you will find on the island currently. Each piece is uniquely designed and, most importantly, durable. The furniture is built to last as well as built to impress.
Chris flicked through some swatches and a selection of tile samples, “you can choose any material or tile that you would like, everything is customisable”, he said.
