Lanzarote’s Official Language School (EOI) will shortly open its registration period for the 2024/25 academic year. New students will be able to sign up for courses in Spanish, English, German, French and Arabic from the 9th to the 23rd of April.

The language courses at the EOI are one of the best bargains on the island, offering residents 120-hour courses that lead to widely recognised qualifications for around €75.

However, they do require a serious commitment, as classes take place twice weekly, mainly at the EOI’s base near the main bus station in Arrecife.  Last year, Spanish learners took two 2-hour classes on weekday mornings.

To find out more contact the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas at C/ El Antonio, 1, Arrecife. Tel 928 8058. Email: secretaria-35009723@gobiernodecanarias.org

The secretary’s office is available on Mon, Wed and Fri from 9 am to 11 am, Tues & Thurs from 11 am to 1 pm.
