Spain’s Meteorological Agency (AEMET) forecast that March will be a warm month in the Canary Islands with little rain.

AEMET forecast that the month of March will be warm with little rain in the Canary Islands and is expected to be humid.

The forecast is based on data from Copernicus Services which process environmental data from observation satellites. It predicts that March will be a warm month throughout Spain and not just the Canary Islands.

Hottest January ever on Lanzarote

The average temperature on the islands in January was 17.9 degrees Celsius, 3.1 degrees higher than the average for the month of January. For this reason, the month has been classed as “extraordinarily hot.”

The hottest temperature registered on Lanzarote was 28.8 degrees in Haría, while La Graciosa saw a maximum of 29.7 degrees.
